Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi is an important figure in Urdu literature in Pakistan. He was born on 20th November 1916. He is not only Urdu poet rather he is also a journalist, literary critic, and dramatist as well.
Ahmad Nadeem is also the author of many short stories that got immense fame not only in Pakistan but also in other countries. He wrote about fifty books on different topics such as poetry, fiction, criticism as well as journalism.
His poetry of humanism distinguished him from the other Urdu writers and poets. His specialization of Urdu Afsana. In Urdu Afsana, he is considered second to Prem Chand. In his Urdu Afsanas, he depicted the true picture of the rural culture of Pakistan.
He has been working for different journals like Phool, Tehzeeb-i-Insan, Adab-i-Lateef, Savera, and Naqoosh. Qasmi had also his own journal Funoon that also adds some extra qualities to the personality of Qasmi. Due to his active participation in literal matters, he was selected as the General Secretary of Anjmun-e-Taraqqi Passand Musannifeen in 1948.
