عبدالحلیم شرر کی کتاب “فردوس بریں”اردو کلاسیکی زمانے کی ایک شہکار تالیف ہے جسے اردو زبان کے کلاسک ادب کا حصہ قرار دیا ہے ۔ مولانا عبدالحلیم شرر غالباً پہلے مصنف ہیں جنہوں نے اردو میں اسلامی تاریخ کے ناول لکھے۔ جو بعد کے ادیبوں اور لکھاریوں کےلئے سنگِ میل ثابت ہوئے ۔عبد الحلیم شرر کو اردو ادب میں خاص مقام حاصل ہے اور ان کو جس سے بہت زیادہ شہرت اور پذیرائی ملی وہ ان کی یہی کتاب “فردوسِ بریں” ہے۔
“فردوسِ بریں پہلی بار 1899 میں شائع ہوئی اس نے شائع ہوتے ہی اردو ناول کےایک نئے دور کا آغاز کیا ۔ یہ کہانی حسن بن صباح اور ان کے پیروکاروں کے بارے میں ہے۔اور مصنف نے ان کی مسلمانوں کے خلاف قتل کی سازشوں کے تذکرے سے لے کر ان کے مسلمانوں کو شدید نقصان پہنچانے ان کی مصنوعی جنت کی منظر کشی ، حسن بن صباح کے ہاتھوں مسلمانوں کی تباہی، اور آخر میں دنیا سے ان کا خاتمہ بیان کیا ہے۔ حسن بن صباح نے مسلمان علماء، حکمرانوں اور اثرورسوخ رکھنے والے آدمیوں کے قتل کا اہتمام کیا۔ اس نے اپنے مبلغین اور پیروکاروں کو قاتل کے طور پر استعمال کیا اور جنت کے خواب دیکھائے بلکہ یوں کہیں کہ اپنی بنائی ہوئی جنت میں بھیج دیا۔ “حسن بن صباح “وہ پہلا شخص تھا جس نے مسلمانوں پر خودکش حملے شروع کیے تھے۔
