Hashim Nadeem’s novel “Pari Zaad” has already been commented on before this. Here, another masterpiece of Hashim Nadeem, a shining star of Urdu language and literature, and the most-sold novel in the history of Pakistan, “Abdullah” is being commented on. This novel was published in regular book form in 2009. Abdullah is such a novel that not only adds value to Urdu fiction but also seems to provide a means of attaining tranquility of heart and spiritual healing. The central idea of this novel is “true love”, which starts from virtual love and, after going through stages of evolution, reaches its destination of “true love”. This is a story of an individual’s spiritual journey, which answers questions related to divine sovereignty.

The central character of the story is a young man named Sahir who comes from a wealthy family. He is in love with a girl named “Zehra” who is his crush. The girl is extremely beautiful, innocent, and cautious by nature. “Abdullah” is not just a romantic story where a boy and a girl get trapped in love. As their love grows, they get married and start living happily. They have children together. However, on the other hand, if we see the other side of the picture, love is there but they can never be together. Their separation is like a dark cloud hovering over the entire novel.

Instead, this novel is much more than that. In this novel, the author has introduced a world where the concept of love is not limited to the union of two bodies, but it creates a world where the idea of love makes one restless to find the soul of their beloved and reach them.

The encounter with different characters forms the essence of this novel. The character of “Sultan Baba” appears, who is kind, compassionate, virtuous, diligent, insightful, and indifferent to the world, teaching the difference between worldly love and true love to the magician. Throughout this journey, we come across various mysterious stories and incidents that compel the reader to think in new directions. Hashim Nadeem’s style in this novel is extremely perfect and unmatched. This story carries the reader along like a flowing river. At the end of each chapter, suspense is created that makes the reader restless to know more. The fluency of this novel is so captivating that it has the ability to make one read it in one sitting.

کہانی کا مرکزی کردار ساحر نامی ایک نوجوان ہے جس کا تعلق ایک امیر گھرانے سے ہے۔ اسے ایک لڑکی “زہرہ” سے محبت ہو تی ہے جو یک نظری ہے۔ وہ لڑکی نہایت خوبصورت، معصوم اور محتاط طبعیت کی حامل ہے۔ “عبد اللہ” صرف ایک رومانوی کہانی نہیں ہے جہاں ایک لڑکا اورلڑکی محبت میں گرفتار ہو جاتے ہیں۔ان کے درمیان محبت بڑھنے لگتی ہے۔ ان کی شادی ہو جاتی ہے۔ وہ خوشی خوشی زندگی بسر کرنے لگتے ہیں۔ ان کے بچے ہو جاتے ہیں۔ یا تصویر کا دوسرا رخ دیکھیں تو محبت ہو جاتی ہے مگر وہ ایک دوسرے کو کبھی نہیں پا سکتے۔ ان کا ہجر نامہ سارے ناول میں افسردگی کی امر بیل کی طرح چھایا رہتا ہے۔ وغیرہ۔بلکہ یہ ناول اس سے کئی زیادہ ہے اس ناول میں مصنف نے ایک ایسی دنیا متعارف کروائی ہے جہاں محبت کا تصور صرف دو جسموں کے ملاپ تک محدود نہیں رہتا بلکہ یہ ایک ایسی دنیا وا کرتا ہے جہاں محبت آپ کے محبوب کی روح کو تلاش کرنے اور اس تک پہنچے کے لیے بے تاب رکھتی ہے۔

ہاشم ندیم اپنے ناول میں صوفیاء کی زندگی کے مختلف احوال بیان کرتے ہیں جہاں آپ کا سامنا مختلف کرداروں سے ہوتا ہے۔ “سلطان بابا” نامی بزرگ کا کردار سامنے آتا ہے جو ایک مہربان، شفیق، خوب سیرت، باکردار، صاحبِ نظر اور دنیا سے بے رغبت ہیں جو ساحر کو دنیاوی محبت اور حقیقی محبت میں فرق سکھاتا ہے۔ اس پورے سفر میں ہمیں مختلف پر اسرار کہانیاں اورچونکا دینے والے واقعات قدم قدم پر ملتے ہیں جو قاری کو نئی جہات میں سوچنے پر مجبور کر دیتے ہیں۔ اس ناول میں ہاشم ندیم کا اسلوب نہایت باکمال اور بے مثال رہا ہے۔ یہ کہانی قاری کو جھرنے سے بہتے پانی کی مثل ساتھ بہا لے جاتی ہے۔ ہر باب کے اختتام پر ایسا سسپنس پیدا کیا جاتا ہے کہ قاری اسے جاننے کے لئے بے تاب رہتا ہے۔اس ناول کی روانی ایسی دلکش ہے کہ جو ایک ہی نشست میں خود کو پڑھوانے کی صلاحیت رکھتی ہے۔
