ہوا کا چلنا نہ چلنا، اُتارنا خدا کے ہاتھ میں تھا
فضول غصہ اُتارا پتنگ پر اُس نے
Hwa ka chalna na chalna, utarna Khuda ke hath main tha,
Fzool gusa utara patang par usne
Whether the wind would blow or not, those were in God's hands
Yet she foolishly took out his anger on the kite.
بچا کے زندگی بھاگے ہیں جس طرف ہم لوگ
اُسی طرف سے ہمیں آ لیا اگر اُس نے
Bacha ke zindagi bhagay hain jis traf hum log
Usi taraf se humein aa liya agar usne
We have spent our lives fleeing in search of survival
What if he comes to meet us from that very path?
میں اِس لیے بھی اُسے خودکشی سے روکتا ہوں
لکھا ہوا ہے میرا نام جسم پر اُس نے
Main es liye bhe usay khudkushi se rokta hun,
Likha hua hai mera naam jism par usne
I stop her from taking her own life for another reason too
She has my name written upon her body.
یہ نظم ایک ایسے معاشرے کی عکاسی کرتی ہے جہاں خوف، جبر، بے بسی، تقدیر اور سماجی دباؤ انسان کی زندگی پر گہرے اثرات ڈالتے ہیں۔ شاعر پہلے ظلم اور تذلیل کے مناظر دکھاتا ہے، پھر انسان کی اس کمزوری کو بیان کرتا ہے کہ وہ اپنے اختیار سے باہر حالات کا غصہ کمزور چیزوں پر نکالتا ہے، اور اس کے بعد یہ احساس دلاتا ہے کہ انسان زندگی بچانے کے لیے جس راستے پر بھاگتا ہے، بعض اوقات تقدیر اسی راستے پر اس کا انتظار کر رہی ہوتی ہے۔ آخر میں محبت بھی ایک پیچیدہ انسانی جذبے کے طور پر سامنے آتی ہے، جہاں چاہت کے ساتھ ذمہ داری، سماجی بدنامی اور اپنی عزت کا خوف بھی شامل ہو جاتا ہے۔ محبوبہ کی خودکشی صرف اس کی ذاتی موت نہیں رہے گی بلکہ اس کے جسم پر لکھا ہوا عاشق کا نام اس سانحے کو اس سے بھی جوڑ دے گا، یوں وہ بھی معاشرے کی نظر میں رسوا ہوگا۔ اس طرح نظم یہ بتاتی ہے کہ انسان کے فیصلے صرف محبت یا نفرت سے نہیں بلکہ خوف، حالات، تقدیر اور سماجی ذمہ داریوں کے امتزاج سے تشکیل پاتے ہیں۔
